On November 7 an official award ceremony for the winners of the "Golden Sites" Competition was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Warsaw.
The ceremony concluded the 3rd edition of the Competition. Previous ones took place in 2005 and 2007. The Competition is organized by: the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, Marshalls' Offices, Investor Assistance Centres. Honorary Patronage over the Competition was assumed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Waldemar Pawlak. The media patron is the "Puls Biznesu" newspaper.
The purpose of the Competition is to identify attractive investment sites. Plots were evaluated in terms of both their readiness for future investment projects and their locations.
The 3rd edition of the Competition was joined by 220 communes that submitted 332 offers. Among these there were 175 new offers that had not been submitted in the previous editions of the Competition. The majority of the proposed sites were located in the voivodeships of Wielkopolskie, Opolskie and Śląskie.
By participating in the Competitions communes extend their knowledge on the preferences of investors and promote their locations, thus increasing the chances of attracting investment projects. Investors have already showed up on 12 of the 16 sites that won in the year 2005. Eight winners from the last year also acquired investors.
In the Podlaskie Voivodeship the winner of the Competition was a 100 ha plot owned by the Agricultural Property Agency, located in the rural commune of Suwałki, in the town of Dubowo Pierwsze.
The Investor Assistance Centre congratulates the winners!
